SFTGFOP stands for Special Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe. This is the highest grade of black tea. It has the most buds, which explains the golden appearance of the dry leaves.
Yunnan province is the birthplace of tea and home to some of the finest black teas. The tea plants grow in a subtropical climate: hot summers and mild winters with a season of heavy rain. The soil is rich in organic materials.
