Keemun Mao Feng

A delicious handmade black tea from Huang Mountains in China’s Qimen County. The liquor has a smooth, velvety texture. The taste reveals deep and rich notes of dried fruits (most notably cherry) with a chocolaty, honeyed finish. Undoubtedly a gorgeous tea that is best savoured plain.

Description

Keemun Mao Feng does not have the smoked flavour specific to many Chinese black teas. Instead, it mirrors the honeyed, clean character of large-leaf Assam or Ceylon tea.

Mao Feng means ‘fur peak’ and refers to the soft downy white hair on the young buds of this tea and the pointed shape of the dry leaves that resemble a mountain peak.

Qimen County benefits from favourable tea growing conditions with an annual average temperature of 15°C and rainfall of around 1,700mm per annum.

The tea master tightly twists the tea leaves and gives them a slightly curly shape.

Keemun Mao Feng is our founder’s favourite black tea.
