Flavoured teas are becoming increasingly popular today, especially among millennials looking to expand their flavour options.

There are two main types of flavoured teas. First, teas like Jasmine Pearls and Rose Pouchong are naturally scented with flowers (jasmine, rose, osmanthus, etc.) during manufacturing. Second, already-made teas are blended with ingredients such as spices, dried fruits, dried flower petals, dried herbs, or oils. That is the case for Earl Grey or Chai.

To make such teas, the base tea used should not have a strong character. Most of the time, black teas and green teas are used as the base tea. Then the flavouring ingredients are added and are all mixed in a blending drum. A good blend should be well balanced, meaning that the tea should not overpower the flavours and vice versa.
